How to Perform Daily Small Miracles
We all are able to perform small daily miracles every day and, most of the times, not even realize it.
It all starts with setting an intention. Then, nurture your thoughts to support your intentions. This alone already puts the universe in motion to bring you what you want. Yes, it may require deliberate action from you. But not always – and not alone. Many people preach the power of the “hustle” but don’t recognize the power of thoughts and intentions.
Can I Use This To Get Anything I Want?
While some gurus would jump to say “yes!”, I’d caution there are some exceptions to this method. Notice I said “small” miracles, so if your intention is to make a million dollars in a week, visit the moon, or become the president of your country, by all means, go for it. By all means, use the power of a positive mindset along the way. But chances are you won’t reach these goals as fast.
Also, we are talking about positive goals, that will bring benefits, to you, or others. No intention of harm or cause a negative impact goes here.
What Do I Mean By Miracles?
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the definition of “miracle” is “an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs.”
So, how can we perform even small miracles? In case you didn’t know, we all have divinity inside of us. We all have the potential to use it to execute our divine missions.
I love the explanation from the Hindu legend where once all men were Gods. Because they abused that power, Brahma (one of the major Gods), assembled a council. They decided to remove the divinity from men and hide it somewhere they couldn’t find it. All sorts of suggestions followed. “Let’s bury it deep in the Earth”, one said. “Let’s sink it in the deepest ocean.” “Let’s take it to the top of the highest mountain and hide it there.” For each, the Brahma responded: “No. Humans will eventually learn how to get there and find it.”
So the council gave up and said they could not think of a place where they could hide divinity where men wouldn’t find it. Then Brahma said: “Let’s hide it deep within men themselves. They won’t think to look there.” Since then, men have been known to travel far and look everywhere between the tops of the highest mountains to the bottom of the deepest oceans for divinity, not knowing all they needed to do was look within themselves.
What Small Miracles Can I Perform?
Just as we can cultivate serendipity, I believe we can perform small miracles. I will give you two examples that happened to me just this week. I have been silently wishing for a while (and this is the first time I write anywhere about it) to find a voice teacher to learn singing. There are some local schools in my area but they are momentarily beyond my budget, so I was hoping to find someone online.
I understand how ads work and how I’ll start seeing toilet paper ads because I just wrote toilet paper on an internet connected device. This is not what happened here – I had not texted, not even talked about it near an Alexa. To no one. Then, I saw the ad regarding a music teacher who charges relatively cheap for the lesson. I’ll come back here to tell you the end of that story, but I wrote the address down. 🙂
Another one? Just today, I found $30 while organizing a drawer. It had old greeting cards in it (from years) and one Easter card given to my son by his godparents was put away with cash still in it. I cannot imagine for how many years! Although technically this is not money that will go into my wallet, it will go to my kid’s savings account and that counts.
I start with an intention in my mind. Then I think about getting the results, daily. I visualize it. It may not happen the way I expect it, but something always ends up happening that brings the results I envisioned. Seriously – try it!
What if I Want Something Bigger?
I absolutely support the use of a positive mindset for achieving your goals, big or small. The small miracles method is a fun application, though, because you can generally see results faster. If you are persistent, have clear goals, a positive mindset and attitude will get you anywhere.
Just remember you have to start by looking within, though. Make sure these clear goals are aligned to who you are and what is your purpose. Then, start by making daily progress. Establish the good habits that will support your journey.
The other crucial thing to keep in mind is to enjoy the process. Long hauls of work with no rest and no fun will invariably lead to burnout. Take time to take care of yourself and make your road a blissful one.
Lastly, practice daily gratitude (we have a free gratitude journal you can get a free copy of here). Shifting your mindset to a grateful one invites more abundance and happiness into your life, not to mention improve your relationships. A daily gratitude practice is imperative as one of the good habits you should adopt.
One Small Miracle at a Time
Hopefully, these tips have been helpful in letting you see how we can perform daily miracles in our lives. It is not only about hustling, but (in general) it is not only about wishing and expecting, either. It is definitely related to what your intentions are, and what you are thinking.
As a wise friend of mine says:
It is lifelong work because we are not talking about fooling ourselves, here. We are not talking about faking thoughts and feelings we don’t feel connected with. It is about nurturing these thoughts and feelings. It takes making deliberate choices, even when it comes only to what you are thinking! Thoughts matter. They have the power to configure your entire attitude and shape your reality. No matter what is going on in your life now (and we all have our varying degrees of challenges), there is always a share of good things, too.
