My Thoughts About Six Minutes to Success
Six Minutes of Success is one of several of Bob Proctor’s programs available at his Proctor Gallagher Institute. In case you have been living under a rock, Bob Proctor is one the greatest living teachers in the personal development area. He is the author of the New York Times bestseller “You were born rich” (which I highly recommend) and was mentored by Earl Nightingale himself. As a great fan, I enrolled in one of the self-guided programs available at Bob Proctor’s site, Six Minutes to Success. I’ll tell you all about it here in this review.
The concept around Six Minutes to Success is to deliver a daily 6-minute video narrated by Bob Proctor himself and sometimes also by his partner, Sandy Gallagher. The videos are about universal laws, money, health, relationships, and more. It includes the option of a downloadable MP3 file and transcripts.
According to Bob, this is what he calls your daily “positive input”. Each morning they send an email with the new video of the day and add it to the program’s portal. The idea is to create a habit to start your day with a positive message. You can access it whenever you want (and as many times as you want) and it has a keyword as a title, such as “Gratitude”, “Decision”, “Action”, “Affirmations”, and so on.
As he explained in one of the videos, a “positive input” is a positive influence or a source of inspiration he recommends you get on a daily basis. This is very much in line with Blissful Road’s advice to surround yourself with positive energy daily. The goal is to motivate you for the day, start it positively, and get inspiration, besides, of course, to learn.
What I Didn’t Know About Six Minutes to Success
When I first logged into the portal, I noticed not only I had access to the videos, but also to a resources page with a long list of very interesting documents for download.
Amongst these, an Action Planner, a Goal Setting, and Achieving Goal Card set, a Goal Achieving Activities Worksheet, and two e-books: Think And Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and As A Man Thinketh by James Allen. I read and liked this one so much, by the way, I made a whole Instagram series based on its quotes:
What I Liked About it
Every message sent by Bob Proctor is promoting your growth as an individual and actionable steps on what to do to achieve more happiness and success in life. Even if some of the messages are basic, just listening to Bob telling personal stories is uplifting. You have to consider that his audience contains individuals at all levels and he is trying to reach them all. He makes you feel you can do this as long as you set your mind to it. He will inspire you to reach your goals no matter how big.
The additional resources (mentioned above) were also a pleasant surprise. I did not see that mentioned in the sales copy when I signed up. You can, by the way, get a 2 week trial (at the writing of this post) for $1. A dollar for high-quality content and no more than 6 minutes a day to get inspiration from Bob Proctor is a pretty good deal.
The other thing I got which impressed me was the additional follow-up e-mails. Even though I know they send these automatically, I felt they were taking care of me. A few days into the program, I received an email checking in on how I was doing with it. Another few days in, another one reminding me to implement the action steps, not only watch the videos. Even though watching the videos alone and refreshing on some of the concepts already feels like progress, as Bob says, there’s no evolution if you learn but don’t act.
What Could Have Been Better
I personally had some technical difficulties accessing the video of the day on some days. When I clicked on the email link it would take me to the previous day’s video. I believe it had something to do with using Google Chrome and may be related to some cache issue. When I opened the same link using Edge, the new video came up. I also resolved this easily by looking into the Videos list in the portal. I could always go there and click on refresh to see them all and select the one I wanted to see.
The quality and content of the videos are great, although some may come across as very basic for someone who has been in the personal development area for years, such as the importance of gratitude. It was nonetheless a pleasure to hear Bob talk every time. No matter what he is saying, he reached that level where he can charge you just to be in his energy. I have even shown a couple of them to my son, such as the one titled “Reaction or Response”.
This short video explains how you are able to choose between reacting or responding to any given situation. For example, you are on a trip and your flight back home is cancelled. Consequently you will need to stay one extra night at the location. You can either react: feel upset or angry about it, and complain; or respond. If you take a moment and decide you will respond, you will look for what is good about it. In this case, it could be that you get an extra day to enjoy the place and do what you initially didn’t have the time to do. Or that you get an unexpected day to rest.
It all comes down to our choices, as always. So next time something initially happens to you, ask yourself: “what is the good about this?”.
Final Takeaway
After the two-week trial, there is a monthly membership of $29.97/month to continue with the program. Although very much on the fence, I canceled after my trial. It was not because I didn’t like it, but because it doesn’t fit my schedule at the moment. I would consider going back to it in a heartbeat, though. It is a total of up to three hours of Bob talking per month in small bites, not including the free library of downloadable resources. And I know I will always learn something to make my life better when listening to Bob Proctor’s lessons. For less than a dollar a day. Hmmm…
If you are into personal development and like Bob Proctor (does anyone not like him?), it is a no-brainer proposition. He will deliver tips for a successful, productive, and happy life every day to your computer or phone. You will grow wiser and more confident after hearing each of them.
All that said, I definitely recommend giving the 2-week trial for US$1 a go. You can click on the image below to register (this is an affiliate link, which means if you get it I may get paid a commission at no additional cost to you, and you would be supporting Blissful Road):
If you do join the program, email me about it and let me know what you thought of it, I’d love to hear! And if you have any additional pros and cons, I could add them here.
I hope this was helpful and, if you join Bob’s Six Minutes to Success, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
